It's common for universities to offer group travel packages to alumni as a means of fundraising. Most of the trips are priced higher than if you undertook the planning yourself; they seem tailored to wealthy retirees and busy executives who don't have time to research hotels in the south of France. But this one being offered by my alma mater takes the cake. From the brochure, I summarize:
AROUND THE WORLD BY PRIVATE JET
Estimated price: $64,950 per person
Highlights include Machu Picchu, Easter Island, Samoa, the Great Barrier Reef, Angkor Wat, Tibet, the Taj Mahal, the Serengeti Plain, Luxor, the pyramids and the Sphinx, Petra, and the Moroccan city of Fez. All in slightly under a month.
Not sure how many takers they'll actually get in this economy, but still. Sheesh.
